How were the invaders’ costumes created?
As part of our project activities for Erasmus +
Project: ‘Invaders – how they shaped the Europe of today?’, during art class in
December, 6th grade students learned about the clothing of invaders
from the past. They did research on their own, looking for information and
pictures of invaders from different countries on the Internet and in books. The
students prepared sketches of: Normans, Celts, Romans and Vikings, before
completing their work using a variety of materials: pieces of leather, string,
aluminum, wood, cloth etc. The efforts of grade 6b took on a particularly interesting
form. The students worked in pairs to create life-size portraits of invaders.
The students used large bristol boards and made outlines of their silhouettes. The
results were interesting and the students had a lot of fun making their
life-sized invaders.
