Playground Game - Romania
Hello
Here is a new game inspired by the invaders: "The war of the countries"
Time: 30-60 min.
No of players: minimum 5
Place: schoolyard, playground, park
Materials: chalk, ball
Rules:
Draw a big circle with chalk, on the ground, which will be the map of the world, then divide it into pieces, like a pie, one slice for each child. Write the name of the country on each piece. To start the game each child stands in their own country. One player must throw the ball up in the air and say: "I declare war on ..."(name of one of the countries in the circle). Then all the children run away from the circle and the "warrior" whose country has been "invited" to war must catch the ball, bring it to the centre and call "STOP". The "warrior" picks a country he wants to attack (usually the nearest player), takes 3 steps (starting from his country) and then throws the ball into his chosen target player/country. If s/he hits the opponent, s/he can take a part of his/her country. If s/he doesn't, the opponent can take a piece of the warrior's country.
The winner of the game is the country with the biggest number of territories conquered.
Here you can see a short video of this game. Unfortunately we had to play it in class this time, but we will repeat the experience in the schoolyard, soon. :))
