GHEORGHE TITEICA SCHOOL - CONSTANTA, ROMANIA

  Gheorghe Titeica School is situated in Constanta, a city in the south-east of Romania, on the coast of the Black Sea. There are 1000 pupils in our school, who study in 2 shifts: the 27 primary classes (class 0 to class 4) study in the morning, from 8 o'clock to 11.30 and the 14 secondary classes (class 5 to class 8) study in the afternoon, from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock. Our lessons are 50 minutes long, with 10 minutes break. In our school there are a library, an IT room, a physiscs lab, a PE class.We have a big yard, with a stage for outdoor activities or festivities, a football pitch and a basketball court.
There are between 20 and 30 pupils in the classes. The primary classes study all subjects except English, PE and Religious education, with their class teacher. Each primary class studies with the same class teacher for all the 5 years of the primary school. In the secondary school, each subject is taught by a different teacher. 
We start the school year on the 15th of September and the primary classes have a week off at the end of October, then we all have 2 weeks off for Christmas, a week off at the end of February, when we finish the first semester, a week off for the Easter holiday and we start the summer holiday around  the 22nd of June. 
Our school has been involved in 2 multilateral Comenius projects so far,  2008 - 2010 and 2010 - 2012, with partners from England (the same school as in this project), Italy, Spain, Hungary, Poland, Finland, Greece, Reunion Island (France) and Turkey.
